Deep Breath, Breathe Again

I’m partcipating for the first time in Gypsy Mama’s Five Minute Friday challenge (more here).  Here goes…

Deep breath.

Deep breath, where are you?  My heart yearns for you to journey me to a different place on the wind of your peace and hope and confidence.

All I have for now are the short, small gasps of survival.  The little breaths that pound with urgency to the heart, “Don’t give up!  Keep going!  You can do it!”  Like staccato notes in a misplaced sonnet, my heart wants to hush them.

Deep breath, rush over me with your lullaby.  Let me rest in the low notes of your baritone assurance, “Everything will be okay.”

Deep breath, let me sway in the strength of your strong pulse.  Let us go slowly here.  We do not need to run or hide.  Reset the metrenome.

Deep breath, sweep me off my feet in the song of another land—the land of no weeping, no pain, no shame.

Sing the song of eternity to my heart, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

Deep breath, breathe again.

    • Adelle, From reading the other posts I can see that many of us know exactly how it feels…there’s something encouraging about hearing all the deep breaths of the others…sounds like hope to me. Thanks for taking the time to read mine and for your kind words.

    • Grace, Thank you! What a joy it was to join in with you all today. Thanks for stopping by with your kind words of encouragement.
