Sold For a Half-Cent {The Value of Little Things}

Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the  very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. ~Jesus {Matthew 10: 29-31}

Sometimes I wonder if anybody notices, if anyone cares.

Why, yes, Someone does. He sees the individual pieces that have made up so many two-for-one deals in my life. The things that got lumped together, individually no big deal, but collectively grievously sold and sacrificed for just a mere penny. Things of great importance to me, but of no real value to others.

God cares. He sees. He knows. He cares because I am of great worth to Him. He values me.

Sometimes just knowing that your heart didn’t fall to the ground unnoticed can make all the difference in the world.

Today, as an image-bearer, I pray I be given eyes to see the half-measure things that are making for a whole lot of pain in other’s lives and that I be given the grace to show that someone sees, someone cares, someone treasures them more than a penny.
